Welcome to Gravity, the UK’s first smart campus, home to the Agratas gigafactory development.

Together with Agratas, we are accelerating the UK’s shift towards a zero-carbon economy, placing Somerset at the centre of the clean growth revolution and benefitting local villages, the county and wider region.

Through the creation of up to 7,500 new jobs, we want to secure a legacy of opportunities for people who wish to live and work locally and enjoy the unique Somerset countryside.

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET)

NGET are a key delivery partner, their proposed Woolavington substation will power the Agratas facility, as well as wider parts of the Gravity Smart Campus.

Gravity publishes Look ahead notices in advanced of expected changes to works on site. Gravity shares these documents directly with Puriton & Woolavington Parish Council's, ensuring that local communities are aware of on-site activity. Past versions are available below.

Gravity is committed to creating social value locally, our legacy initiative continues to ensure the 37 Club facilities are replaced and embedded in the wider area.

Local Development Order (LDO)

The Gravity Local Development Order is a streamlined form of planning consent, ideally suited to the Gravity Enterprise Zone. The Gravity LDO was adopted in February 2022 by Sedgemoor District Council (now Somerset Council), for more information click here.

Enterprise Way (access road)

This award winning piece of infrastructure connects Gravity to the A39 and to the wider UK motorway network via Junction 23 of the M5.

The link road named ‘Enterprise Way’ opened to the public in October 2021 with landscaping currently being monitored.

Village Enhancement Scheme (VES)

This is Gravity are expecting to initiate the works to deliver the Village Enhancement Scheme (VES) in Q4. Physical works will commence in Q1, 2026. Completion of these works will see Puriton and Woolavington connected by a pedestrian/cycle path, as well as traffic calming measures introduced in both villages.
