Stephen Brice or ‘‘Billy Blue Hat’’ as he was affectionately known by the residents of Woolavington, was Alun Griffiths Gateman.

Stationed at the entrance to the site he regularly interacted with local residents and made a positive difference in the daily lives of those who passed by the Gravity Link Road while under construction. Steve’s positivity led to recognition from the local communities who organised a collective gift for him.
