Gravity is inviting residents of Puriton and Woolavington to attend one of two community meetings ahead of construction work on the Village Enhancement Scheme (VES), due to begin in September.
The meetings will be held at:
- Puriton Village Hall, Thursday 27 August, 6pm
- Woolavington Village Hall, Friday 28 August, 6pm
Attendees will have the chance to meet Montel, the lead contractor for the scheme, along with the wider design team. The sessions will cover the scope and programme of works, traffic management, and health and safety, followed by an open Q&A.
The VES is a key piece of community infrastructure, creating a safe and attractive off-road link between Woolavington, Puriton and the Gravity Smart Campus as part of Gravity’s Clean and Inclusive Growth strategy. The works also include a series of traffic-calming measures designed to make the area safer for everyone.
Where possible, the scheme will be built using recycled materials from the Gravity site, with new native trees planted along the route. Montel has also committed to a comprehensive Employment and Skills plan, providing opportunities for local people during the construction programme.
Anyone with questions ahead of the meetings can get in touch at info@thisisgravity.co.uk.
